Peacebuilding DTS is a 6-month Christian discipleship intensive centered around developing your character and strengthening the foundations of your faith.
DTS is an invitation to intentionally set aside time to seek God and step into the abundant life He offers. God desires for us to experience Him in His fullness and to walk confidently in our true identity in Christ. As we grow in closeness with God, we experience His life-changing transformation and freedom.
On the Peacebuilding DTS, we ask: What does it look like to follow in the footsteps of Jesus — to walk in peace, act justly, advocate for others, and seek reconciliation in all things? God simply invites us to seek Him and follow Him - What does that actually look like in our day-to-day lives?
The program consists of 13 weeks of lecture phase and 9 weeks of outreach.

Lecture Phase
Lecture phase consists of 3 months in a live/learn environment, covering a wide range of topics including Character & Nature of God, Identity, Missions, Peacebuilding and Reconciliation.
The goal of lecture phase is, that alongside trainees from various backgrounds, you will mature in your faith as we dive into different topics regarding Christian Faith. We aim to prepare and equip you for the work of helping usher in the Kingdom of God through love of our friend, neighbour, and enemy and service to those around us.
Outreach Phase
At An Cuan we are committed to reaching out to those on the “outside”, embodying Christ’s love and grace in every interaction, and celebrating the beauty of diverse cultures and identities. You are invited into this when you join us for DTS - discover what it looks like to partner with God in the here and now.
The Outreach phase is the time to put into action what you have learned, while simultaneously stepping out of your comfort zone and doing things you might have never done before. During the outreach phase, you will spend 9 weeks in one of our focus regions, partnering with local ministries and ongoing initiatives. We are not bringing God with us when we go, instead it is a time for you to partner with what God is already doing in these regions.
As a community we believe that we are far more effective when we have a commitment to ongoing relationships in our focus regions . These include Ireland, Lebanon, the Balkans, Rwanda, Burundi, Israel and Palestine, India, China and South Africa.
Meet Your School Leaders:
Annie & Thiago
Annie and Thiago are a Brazilian/American couple that met here and got married here! Annie’s from New Jersey, USA and Thiago’s from Joinville, Brazil. Annie’s been living and serving in Rostrevor, NI since 2021 and Thiago since 2022. They are passionate about worship, and equipping and empowering people in their identity in God and in their relationship with Him. Along with that they have a heart for peacebuilding and reconciliation, and diving into what it looks like to walk this out in a world that can sometimes feel divided.
Annie and Thiago both love spending time with people and good cups of coffee. Annie’s a musician and loves music, games, and exploring villages. Thiago has a creative heart, loves board games, and is a chess enthusiast. Thiago also loves to cook with loud music playing (it’s a must) and Annie loves to taste test, so it’s a perfect fit.
